It can be very stressful at competitions and one way to help elleviate some of that stress is to be prepared. Having a list of the tasks which need to be completed can be a huge help. You can enter the time of key events such as your dressage, cone and marathon times and then work your way back allocating a time to each task and also assigning a person to the task so that everyone knows when things need to be done and who is doing them. What is a Parrot Clip?
Parrot clips, also known as snap hook or rein snap, are an excellent form of quick release for driving harness. Most commonly a parrot clip can be fitted to the back strap where it attaches to the driving saddle. This enable the entire breeching to be removed from play with one simple movement in the event of an accident. A parrot clip may also be placed on each of the breeching straps where they attach to the breeching seat. This enables the breeching straps to remain on the vehicle and the horse can be quickly put to or taken out. The rein snaps are also used commonly in endurance riding for attaching the reins to the bridle. These are usually the brass rein snaps.
