Tedex Bridle Blinkers & Cheeks
Blinkers and cheek pieces suitable as replacement or swap out parts for the Tedex driving bridle.
What are Blinkers?
Also known as winkers or blinders the blinkers are used on a driving bridle to prevent the horse from seeing behind it and being destracted by things going on around it. Most horses are only ever driven in blinkers and to attempt to drive them without is extremely dangerous. A horse has a natural and overwhelming urge to run from predators and other frightening experiences. Even the most placid and accepting of horses may be put to flight, not necessarily as a result of the carriage, and will be sent into a frenzy when they are unable to escape from what is behind them, namely the vehicle. Many driving accidents occur as a result of the horse seeing behind it and taking flight. It is vital to ensure that your bridle is always correctly fitted and that all grooms and helpers are educated thoroughly in the importance of the blinkers and never attempt to remove them when the horse is still attached to the vehicle.
