This is a very well accepted Liverpool driving bit having the KK Ultra Lozenge as well as the Aurigan mouthpiece. This is a two slot neat driving bit with an 18mm thick mouthpiece.

Due to the double jointed mouthpiece the bit matches the shape of the horse's mouth. The pressure disperses over the tongue-halfs, which makes it easier to give precise aids.



What is a Liverpool Driving Bit?
The Liverpool is the most commonly used driving bit. It has various degrees of severity to suit different horses in different situations. Through the use of the curb chain the Liverpool driving bit puts pressure on the curb groove. The cheek pieces are made up of a series of slots (also known as bars) which can change the severity of the curb action and the pressure on the poll by moving the reins up or down the slots. 

What is a KK Ultra?
KK Ultra bits take advantage of the exceptional sensitivity of the tongue. Did you know that because the tongue is so extremely sensitive it multiplies perceptions in this area dramatically. You might also recognise the feeling - if the human tongue finds a little hole in a tooth it gives the impression that there is a huge gap. A horse's tongue works in much the same way, whilst eating it can even filter out small stones from food. In collaboration with Sprenger, the veterinary University of Hanover started a new project. They examined more than 70 horse's heads and used varying methods to take measurements. The analysis of this information produced unexpected results:
  • the interior volume of the mouth was less than had been previously thought
  • the palate was both smaller and very often flatter than previously imagined
  • the space left for a bit is therefore very limited

What is Aurigan?
Sprenger's Aurigan metal is made up of 85% copper, 4% silicon and the remainder of zinc. It is oxidized Aurigan bits that produce the distinctive and pleasant taste horses love. This particular taste encourages horses to chew and produce saliva which leads to the rapid acceptance of the Aurigan bit. 

The extraordinary advantages of Aurigan as a material for bits has been proved by scientific research. The excellent acceptance of Aurigan in the horse's mouth has been confirmed by a long term study at the University of Hanover.

Aurigan is a special nickel-free alloy which, due to the inclusion of silicon, combines the oxidation advantages of pure copper with maximum strength. This is guaranteed by the unique formula and composition of Aurigan which exceeds the quality of the approved German silver. 

A high copper content in a bit material does not necessarily result in optimum oxidation. Aluminium and nickel ingredients actually inhibit the oxidation process of the metal in the horse's mouth - slowing down the reaction!
 

 
Delivery Charges

For orders under £40 within the UK shipping is charged at £4.20. For International delivery, costs are calculated for you at checkout according to the weight of the package. Orders over £40 have FREE delivery excluding International shipping. Driving whips are also excluded from free delivery and cannot be shipped outside UK mainland.

Wherever possible orders will be despatched within 24 hours however we may need to order parts for you in which case despatch may take approximately 7 days for Zilco products (this may be longer for Zilco products during the current pandemic conditions).
You should ensure that someone will be at your chosen delivery address to sign for the parcel(s). If no-one is available to receive the parcel at the specified address, the courier will leave a card with details of the attempted delivery, and the date of the next delivery attempt or where you can collect.

Upon Receipt of Your Order
 
Signing for Parcels:
We use signature services for most of our deliveries. This is for our customer's protection. Please make sure that someone is at the address you have specified for delivery, to sign for receipt of your order. You can select a different delivery address when placing your order, such as your workplace or a neighbour’s address.
Missing items:
If your order consisted of a number of substantial items, these may be shipped in multiple boxes. Attached to one of the boxes will be your delivery note. The delivery note will list all of the ordered items, where items are to follow, this will be marked on your delivery note. Where there is a significant delay for part of your order, or stock is unobtainable, we will contact you to let you know. If you think that there are missing items from your order, please check the packaging thoroughly, as small items can sometimes be hidden within the internal packing. We often put small items within the packaging of larger items or attach clips to larger items for their security. Please ensure that you do not remove the tags from the products until you are happy with them as they cannot be returned once the tags are removed.
Exchanges
 
We are more than happy to exchange items for you, please ensure you do not remove the tags and that items are returned completely free of any marks or hair. Please inform us within 30 days of receipt of your order and we will issue you a returns number. Unless the return is due to our error an additional postage charge may apply to send the replacement item to you but this will be at cost. From 13 June 2014 the Consumer Contracts Regulations apply to all purchase you make at a distance, so either online, mail order, over the phone or through a shopping channel
Your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and doesn't end until 30 days from the day you receive your goods.

 

Refunds

Providing the items are in a new and resaleable conditon with all tags attached, free of any marks or hair and with any original packaging we will be more than happy to refund the item for you. (though not the original delivery cost or any return delivery charges.). If returning a portion of an order resulting in the value of the retained order being under £40 the original outgoing postage charge of £4.20 will not be refunded.
If, in the unlikely event of you receiving an item which has a manufacturing fault,  please contact us within 30 days of receipt of your order, we will arrange to have a repair effected or a replacement sent on return of the faulty one. Alternatively, at this stage you can have a full refund of the original purchase price, less the original delivery charge. Please contact us by email: hello@harnessstuff.co.uk within 30 days of receipt of your order to request a returns number.


The manufacturer may on occasion improve or modify a product without our knowledge, in this situation we will do our best to inform you prior to dispatch, we endeavour to keep the website as up to date as possible but we may not always be aware of an alteration occurring.
